DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

The aim of this web site is to provide information, case studies and opportunities for the sharing of good practice on school attendance in England as part of the Government's aim to raise educational standards for all, and to provide Local Authorities, Schools, Headteachers, Teachers, School Governors, Police Authorities, Social Services, Parents, Magistrates, Youth Offending Teams and Local Group information on school attendance issues and share examples of good practice that have been introduced by individual schools and Local Authorities.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION:

Excellent web site with lots of useful links to help improve school attendance. I particular I found the link to the 'Behaviour and Attendance' web site useful. On that site I particularly recommend the 'tab's' linking to 'Alternative Educational Provision' and 'Case Studies / Good Practice'. In the latter, one 'Good Practice' case study I recommend is from Derbyshire County Council, where our college is based -'Managing and Reducing Unofficial Exclusions'.
