Parent Support Adviser Project - Resource Kit 1
Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA)
Booklet 44 pages and accompanying CD-ROM
English
Research shows that involving families, parents and carers in their children's learning is a highly effective way of raising standards of behaviour and attainment. The TDA is running a two-year project piloting a new role in schools - the parent support adviser (PSA). The resource kit details what has been learned during the first year of the project, the successful strategies adopted by Local Authorities in recruiting, training and managing PSAs and the approaches the PSAs themselves have taken to meet the challenges of the role.
Interesting booklet and CD-ROM on an interesting project. Some good PSA case studies:- Engaging with parents; Addressing barriers to parental involvement; Managing pupil behaviour and improving attendance;
Supporting transition; Improving culture and communication
