DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

Roberta Fadda and Eros Mangiaracina are both professors at the University of Cagliari. The idea of this book stems from research sponsored by a Comprehensive School of Sardinia, where the school dropout reached dramatic levels. The issues of social disadvantage and early school leaving are addressed here in their various forms, ranging from nursery school, where did the first feelings of alienation from school, or at least to some school activities, until the upper secondary school, where the discomfort can now take many forms such as glaring neglect. The theoretical and scientific research proposed here, conducted in academic and combined with examples of good educational practices in school situations at high risk of loss, they want to contribute not only to a better understanding of the phenomenon of school dropouts and the factors associated with it but also to reduce the alarming gap between scientific research and educational practices that too often characterizes the Italian reality training.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION:

This book aims to illustrate, using an interdisciplinary perspective, the results of theoretical and empirical research on the subject of distress and school dropout.
From prevention, perhaps therein lies the key to a phenomenon that has been extensively studied for decades in multi-dimensional direction and at every level of education, continues to manifest itself in blatant forms of drama, as if to mock the countless number of studies produced on the subject and programs, projects, initiatives that every Italian school has implemented in recent years.
From prevention should mean "surprise in the bud" problems, diseases and illnesses before they cronicizzino and, as in the medical field, bring the school more impressive results than those obtained in years and years of struggle against phenomena already full-fledged discomfort school.
