DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

This research consisted of two phases.
A theoretical phase: observation and analysis of processes and mechanisms by which some young people drop out of secondary school, while they had managed satisfactorily primary education.
A practical phase of the research-action: exploiting of the results achieved during the first phase to develop tools to provide educational communities with means of prevention against school dropout.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

The research-action was conducted during the school years 2006, 2007 and 2008, with the collaboration of educational communities (students, teachers and parents) of 14 schools in the district of Liège.
The educational tools initiated by this research to support continued investment of pupil in his education and his social adaptation target three major issues: "social skills", "learning difficulties and working methods", "the teacher-student relationship and the request for aid."
In each of these issues animation workshops are proposed, including: brainstorming, role play, various exercises (note, store, create a poster, ...) alone or in small groups, debriefing, commitment in the form of pact, use of class newspaper ...
Teaching sheets and tips come in support of the various phases of animation.
The innovative nature of these devices does not lie in their content, which builds on existing methods and tools, but in their initial premise, i.e. the plurality of lines of investigation which is part of a multidimensional approach involving student, his family and school.
