DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

This article summarizes the colloquium “school (re)integration... the challenge!” organized at the start of the new school year by the Ministry of Education of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels, 25 September 2007, aimed at education professionals.
Two aspects of school (re)integration were discussed during this study day:

• Objective zero drop-out
 Presentation of "best practices" for (re)integrating children and adolescents in school
 Ideas for reflection for the SAS (School Reintegration Services)
 Intervention of "mobile teams" agents, in the most delicate situations
 Presentation of the new "Service of School Obligation" responsible for controlling the school enrollments as well as the actual attendance at courses

• Making like school from the age of 3 years
 Well welcoming children from kindergarten is an essential key of prevention
 Maintaining links with families is important even if there is sometimes a mutual misunderstanding
 Provide ongoing training to teachers (especially to the psychology of the child) is necessary if one wants that the kindergarten classes are springboards for a serene course of study.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

The fight against school drop-out remains a constant challenge to any educational team, whatever their level of education, their audience of learners or even their environment.
The sharing of good professional practices and the exchange of implemented strategies can only stimulate researches and applications.
