DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

This report challenges the idea that there will always be students who fail and drop-out and who can not or will not succeed in school.

Initiatives taken in many countries show that it is possible to lower failure and school drop-out rates and reduce the huge social cost of adults who have not acquired the basic skills needed to find their place in society.

From the comparative analysis of national approaches, the report concludes that three factors are crucial for equity in education: the design of education systems, classroom practices and the resources granting.

On this basis, OECD experts provide public authorities with ten concrete measures to reduce failure and dropout rates.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

This report argues that education systems must combine equal opportunities and inclusion in their design, their practices and resources.
This will be of particular interest to policy makers, school leaders, teachers and parents.
