DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

Early school leaving, as relationship difficulties between some young people and the world of education, is an indicator of the alarming crisis experienced by our education system. Although it is not a new phenomenon, it affects in the versatility of its manifestations, a significant number of girls and boys. Awareness of the many factors involved gave rise to a series of studies and interventions aimed at shedding light on the dynamics underlying the phenomenon and groped to counteract the worst effects. This plurality of perspectives of analysis has led to the spread of a series of terms belonging to different spheres semantic and various research traditions. The undoubted conceptual richness and vocabulary may be, however, a potential source of ambiguity and constitute an obstacle to the interaction between the scholars who study the phenomenon from different perspectives and between them and those involved in the area.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

The glossary proposed in the book is really useful to collect and then indicate the meanings of the terms used to offer a "base" in pursuit of common discourse and integrated interventions. It also is a working tool to support the thoughts and actions of teachers, community educators, social service providers and others who work for young people experiencing difficulties in their relationship with the school.
