DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

This report evaluates the extent to which schools involved parents and carers in the education of young people and how effective this was. A number of key findings were identified which could help understand the impact which parents and carers can have on the successful education of their children and this in turn could help 'drop out' prevention.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION:

Slightly 'dry' but nevertheless valuable document which identifies some important key facts e.g. 'Whilst schools were good at giving academic information to parents and carers about the curriculum, examinations and coursework requirements, only a few gave sufficient guidance about what they should do to support their child's learning'.
