Care and monitoring process from mentoring

REVIEW OF THE TRAINING INITIATIVE:

• Context in which good practice is conducted:
The care and monitoring of students is part of the educational model of Formació Florida Centre in general and especially the Middle Level Cycles given its characteristics, our students come from approximately:
• 40% pupils entitled to compulsory secondary education with an academic situation normalized.
• 10% pupils entitled to compulsory secondary education with curricular diversification.
• 10% students graduated in academic career ESO irregular (some repetition.
• 10% students who left high school
• 5% non-degree students who have been reincorporated into the education system through an entrance test.
• 5% of students who come from other intermediate level, finished or unfinished.

INITIAL INTERVIEW: After two, three weeks the course begins:

Usually short and not very formal, unless the situation requires.
This is a first personal contact, location and socialization of students.
Primarily addresses issues related to:
1. Motivation for these case studies, questions such as:
"These studies professionals, are just as you imagined the?"
"What was the reason for your choice?
"You be easy or difficult, you feel that you like?"
2. Expectations. It is important for new students that projects and professional training, especially in cases where there have been irregularities in your academic history.
"Do you see yourself working for this? ...
"What do you intend to study this cycle?
3. Adaptation to the new group if you are comfortable, if not quite fit, how to see the classroom environment ...
4. Current academic status: see how the different modules, if you think you will have difficulty in some, if you contacted the faculty in their office hours to clarify any doubts ...
5. In some cases, free contributions students themselves: needs or situations that he or she deems appropriate to comment.
• Why have you chosen this good practice?
The approach to students and their experiences about their training is one way of:
• Understand their needs
• Address improvement actions efficiently
• Coordination of the team that combines efforts and gives coherence to the educational administration.
It is also an effective way to collaborate with families in the adolescent stage, most of our students, but are no longer in compulsory education, are minors.
And we must consider that the students come from different educational centers are not known and must adapt to a new group, new teachers and new ways of working.

Au cours du mois de mars 2013, les partenaires forment les enseignants impliqués dans le projet au Module 5 "Soutien externe et coopération". Le module examine les ressources et soutiens externes pour les enseignants et élèves pour les aider à prévenir le décrochage scolaire.
