Outcomes:

- Documentation examined on the basis of the topic of early school leaving and interventions/strategies for prevention
- Documentation assessed from a socio-demographic perspective
- Common format for the review studied
- 12 documents reviewed and written up
- Contact with researchers and key personnel working in intervention programmes

Evaluation of the work undertaken:
- Though slow at first to source relevant documentation in relation to early school leaving in Ireland, one search gradually led to another. Some articles and studies had good bibliographies that proved a valuable source of additional research and literature – and writers also. Key researchers in the area of social inclusion began to emerge and are useful contacts.

- Communication with relevant workers in interventions projects has been a useful means of gaining both literature and practical information
