Description of Dissemination Event:
The Conference was made up of three sessions. The first one dealt with the evaluation of Lisbon targets and the perspectives of their renewal. A representative of the Italian Ministry of Education, the Regional Councillor for Education and the President of CIPAT Consortium spoke on the issue. In the second session each partner spoke about the best practices they had chosen among the many national examples to be found in the project. The third session was a round table under the guidance of Professor P. Federighi, University of Florence, an expert in European educational policies. Five teachers and the director of a training centre, from the partners’ countries and Italy, took part in the discussion. Simultaneous translation from English and Italian was provided for the entire conference.

Headteachers and teachers from Tuscan Upper Education Schools, policy makers from Tuscan Regional Council, representatives from vocational agencies.

80 people. 21 teachers who had sent their application forms were not present.

Outcomes and Results:
The Conference has allowed the participants to appreciate the presentation of good practices to prevent early school leaving which are being adopted in different European countries. The round table was quite lively and interesting. The moderator’s challenging statements and questions were met by the teachers with a very high level of awareness and professional skill. The debate was evaluated very positively by the participants who followed the conference from beginning to end. The only negative aspect was represented by the absence of 21 teachers who had answered our invitation and sent their application forms.
