DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

Brief of the abstract:
Adolescent's perceptions of parenting style and parental involvement in their education were examined longitudinally and related to school dropout among Icelandic youth. Results indicated that adolescents who, at the age of 14, characterized their parents as authoritative (showing acceptance and supervision) were more likely to have a completes upper secondary school by the age of 22, than adolescents from non-authoritative families, controlling from adolescents' gender.

The study clearly explains the background and method and take us to conclusions that are for sure very interesting for parents and anybody working at compulsory education.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

The research arises a particular point of view and a surprising conclusion. Well supported by previous studies, it shows a methodology that consistently supports the hypothesis
