This document, which is an update of SFR22/2007 released in June 2007, provides provisional end of 2007 estimates of participation in education, training and employment and those not in education, employment or training (NEET) for 16,17 and 18 year olds in England. Key points are:
1) 78.7% of 16-18 year olds were in education and training - the highest ever number
2) The proportion of 16-18 year olds who were NEET decreased from 10.4% at the end of 2006 to 9.4% at the end of 2007
3) The total number of 16-18 year olds NEET was estimated at 189,000
Document included to provide a source of up to date statistical information on the extent of the 'drop out' problem in respect of young people aged 16-18 at the end of 2007.

Stay@School at the Future of Education Conference
The Stay@School projet will be presented at the third edition of the “Future of Education” international conference, held in Florence, Italy, on 13 - 14 June 2013. Over 250 participants from all over the world will attend the conference. The conference participants belong to the sectors of higher education, school education, vocational education and training as well as adult education, therefore representing all of the target groups of the Stay@School project.
