Local Strategy for Prevention and Combating Early School Leaving in the city Campulung

This publication included a local strategy to prevent and combat early school leaving, with application to the City Câmpulung Romania. The strategy was developed in the project "Education, our chance for a better future", co-financed by European Social Fund Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007 - 2013 (POSDRU/23/2.2/G/31040), "Invest in people ".
In the present context, government bodies and international organizations consider education one of the most effective means of raising living standards, mitigation and prevention of various phenomena with negative impact on children and youth (dropout, corruption, juvenile crime, delinquency, illegal work,) and to provide alternative resolution, such as poverty, social exclusion, discrimination, limited access to information, etc. From this perspective, school dropout is one of the concepts through quantitative and qualitative characteristics, offers a more nuanced view on the definition, understanding and operating with what education experts call the area "access to education, participation and academic and social progress".

Tackling the phenomenon consists in establishing a strategy for educational programs and school projects and extracurricular activities designed to raise school attendance rates and to facilitate the integration of children who have left school.
The development and implementation of these strategies, the primary responsibility are Inspectorates and local governments.
This publication has been selected for the initiative taken and developed strategic directions and specific actions that can be transferred successfully in all systems of education are faced with dropout.

Stay@School at the Future of Education Conference
The Stay@School projet will be presented at the third edition of the “Future of Education” international conference, held in Florence, Italy, on 13 - 14 June 2013. Over 250 participants from all over the world will attend the conference. The conference participants belong to the sectors of higher education, school education, vocational education and training as well as adult education, therefore representing all of the target groups of the Stay@School project.
