This publication can turn an average or uninterested person into a person willing to learn. This innovative book addresses to all the educators present in a child’s life: parents, tutors, teachers, instructors, counselors, social workers.
It is a guide for the average person, which shows how the theory of mediated learning can be turned into practice, as proposed by Professor Reuven Feurstein. By means of this theory, the professor demonstrated that intelligence can be changed, that people can change as a result of „favourable interactions”.
These interactions, known as mediated learning experiences, occur when an interested adult works individually with a child in order to set the basis of learning. The mediated learning experience inside and outside the classroom explains the way the respective technique can improve the control of impulsivity, ability to make comparisons, to orient in time and space, cause-effect understanding, and other superior cognitive processes.
The above mentioned strategies – and many others – go next to a reader-friendly text, worksheets, assessment grids and case studies. Together they outline the safe success formula both for you and the child you work with.
