The present volume is a contribution to a better understanding of the phenomenon. Beside traditional data it matches the indicators of failure at school with other variables: school size, organization, the teaching staff, etc. The methodology highlights the interdependence of the variables under consideration in order to identify the concentration of critical situations in the various geographical areas. It is an interesting perspective which provides new information at both national and local level allowing to identify unusual cases if compared to the provincial average percentages.
The book offers an integrated analysis of data held by different national and local institutions in order to identify the priorities, the main causes and the variables that can determine risk situations.
