Tackling the failure and dropping out of school adolescents foreign SeiPiù born from the idea that establish stronger relationships and personal relations between the school and the family can significantly improve attendance and academic performance of pupils who are children of immigrants.
Launched in 2007 on the initiative of Fondazione del Monte di Bologna and Ravenna, SeiPiù has sought from the beginning to build interventions that deal with the problem in an integrated way in its many variables: the socio-economic characterizations ethno-cultural, with particular attention the specificity and gender issues.
The overcoming of the traditional approach to teaching or preparation of instruments for the reception and literacy required the design and construction of paths to locate and exploit ability is not curricula, enhance self-esteem and build confidence through coordinated actions capable of responding to needs of the student, faculty, family, and the construction of a dynamic relationship between the expectations of family and school needs.

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

The book was inspired by the reflections and proposals which emerged during the conference SeiPiù. Second generation and educational attainment, organized at the end of the first trial year of the project. The text aims to reconstruct, enacting interweaving of voices of academics, teachers, social workers, mediators, students, the vast confrontation that took place on the educational attainment of young students of first or second generation. With particular attention to certain specific issues: the stories and paths of integration of young people, the expressive language and image as a tool to interact with the group and create well-being and self-esteem, the family as an agent and the center of the relationship.

Stay@School at the Future of Education Conference

The Stay@School projet will be presented at the third edition of the “Future of Education” international conference, held in Florence, Italy, on 13 - 14 June 2013. Over 250 participants from all over the world will attend the conference. The conference participants belong to the sectors of higher education, school education, vocational education and training as well as adult education, therefore representing all of the target groups of the Stay@School project.
