Description of the organization | Zepf is the pivotal research institute of the University of Koblenz-Landau, Campus Landau, currently employing 25 researchers involved in basic-oriented as well as application-oriented research in a wide range of projects. Zepf is organised in four Centres of Excellence: Education, Teaching and Learning, Advancement and Development, Health and Wellbeing. All Centres of Excellence are based on the following central competences and expertises: educational and psychological diagnostics, evaluation, and development of educational and psychological concepts and trainings. Zepf is engaged in national and international research and practical oriented projects, and has cooperated with a wide range of partners and clients such as companies, ministries or non-profit organisations. As part of the University of Koblenz-Landau, zepf is involved in the qualification of psychologists, teachers and educators. As a coordinator and project partner in several EU-projects, zepf was involved in developing internet portals, off-line and online courses, online conferences and other products related to e-learning and school-based projects. Because of this special competence the zepf is well-known and attractive as a national and international partner. |

1. Projects related to the topic HEALTH AND WELLBEING
"Ways to wellbeing" - development, implementation and evaluation of an out-patient health promotion training, funded by a health insurance company. "The Health Week" - development, implementation and evaluation of an in-patient health promotion training, funded by a health insurance company. "Giving and receiving care" - development, implementation and evaluation of an in-patient seminar for care giving relatives, funded by a health insurance company. "Family ties" - development, implementation and evaluation of an in-patient weekend seminar for families, funded by a health insurance company. Evaluation of interventions in the area of leisure time noise prevention", funded by the German Ministry of Health. Various projects in the area of addiction prevention. 2. Projects related to the topic SCHOOL "European Healthy Schools and Drugs", funded by the EU, aiming at the development of concepts and strategies of effective school-based drug prevention. Evaluation of an Adipositas prevention training in elementary school, funded by a local government. Development, implementation and evaluation of the psychosocial part of a weight reduction training in elementary school, funded by a local public health department. "Our school - a school to feel well in" - a project which aimed at documenting where the school contributes to wellbeing of pupils and teachers, funded by a local health promotion institution. Gabrielle Dlugosch is head of the Centre of Excellence Health and Wellbeing at the Centre for empirical educational research (zepf) at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Campus Landau. She studied psychology in Marburg, Heidelberg and as a Fulbright scholar in San Francisco.
Since her stay in the USA, she was engaged in the areas of health psychology and health promotion in theory and practice. She worked at the Student Health Education Centre of the San Francisco State University and in the AIDS Health Project of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation in the field of AIDS-prevention and for Michael Thomas Health Consult in various areas of health promotion. From 1987 to 1993 she worked as a research assistant for health and medical psychology at the University of Trier where she received her PhD in psychology. Since 1993, she has been a research assistant, university lecturer, and project coordinator at zepf, focussing on health psychology, health promotion, and prevention, regarding a wide range of target groups and subjects. Her cooperation partners and principals are important institutions on local and national level. She is frequently invited as speaker on meetings and conferences related to health topics. In 2007, together with a colleague she founded "New Options Counselling", offering counselling and coaching in the areas of health and illness, partnership and family, and education and career. |

Stay@School at the Future of Education Conference
The Stay@School projet will be presented at the third edition of the “Future of Education” international conference, held in Florence, Italy, on 13 - 14 June 2013. Over 250 participants from all over the world will attend the conference. The conference participants belong to the sectors of higher education, school education, vocational education and training as well as adult education, therefore representing all of the target groups of the Stay@School project.
