The provocative behavior of adolescents is represented in a vast literature and feeds often films or theater, as well as the daily news. The adolescent transgression has always existed, generates even more exasperation of today's parents, who, with the advance of puberty, there are not many tools to deal with educational difficulties and relationship for quite a number of years, those who go from 'age of 10 to 20 years. The same problem affects teachers who face the same behavior from a different perspective, but always in an educational context.
The Book of neuropsicolga Dutch Eveline Crone, who work in a research group that studies the changes of the brain for years in children, based on the observation that the advance of puberty (due to a better diet, but also less mobile ) and the later entry into adulthood create a situation of considerable difficulties. The new explanation - the result of research work - is that there are two different neural systems and psychological integragiscono to turn children into adults, but development times have changed: there is a system that is related to sexual maturation and produces hormones of puberty and influence the emotions, resulting in the attraction of strong emotions (excitement, despair, risk exposure). The other system, that of brain maturation, back slowly, making delay the rationality of behavior, the prediction and control of their actions. In other temini puberty comes first, the maturation delay: in this limbo will fuel conflict in the family and the school to a greater extent than in the past. Parents are thus increasingly unable to put borders and drive, but also teachers often do not know how to deal with transgressive behavior figures educators aware of their role.
The book is interesting not only because it provides new scientific explanations result of research to date, including suggestions for teaching and education that it can produce. The maturation of the brain, in fact, is based on the experiences and stimuli that are received. If adolescents were more empowered, even their control systems maturerebbero before and could better channel the emotional energy. To put this in the context of school business practices, civil services, actions of tutoring classmates in the early years, or other experiences of reality, can help to make you feel the closest school to children and appreciate it as a place where learn to live
