Cette étude poursuivait un double objectif:
• Examiner le poids respectif des caractéristiques socio-démographiques et du vécu scolaire des élèves dans l'explication de l'absentéisme.
• Comparer l'adéquation de trois modèles théoriques de l'absentéisme.
En ce qui concerne le premier objectif, les résultats ont montré que les caractéristiques socio-démographiques semblent peu pertinentes pour la compréhension de l'absentéisme, à l’inverse du sentiment d'aliénation.
En ce qui concerne le deuxième objectif, les résultats plaident nettement en faveur du modèle qui postule un effet de la motivation des élèves et du contexte scolaire perçu sur le sentiment d'aliénation, ainsi qu'un effet du contexte scolaire sur la motivation.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION:

Les résultats de l’étude se fondent sur l’analyse de 212 questionnaires complétés par des élèves de 4ème, 5ème et 6ème secondaire.
Les élèves étaient invites à répondre à des questions portant sur leurs perceptions du contexte scolaire, leurs orientations motivationnelles, leur compétence perçue, leur sentiment d'aliénation par rapport à l'école ainsi que leur absentéisme.

Stay@School at the Future of Education Conference

The Stay@School projet will be presented at the third edition of the “Future of Education” international conference, held in Florence, Italy, on 13 - 14 June 2013. Over 250 participants from all over the world will attend the conference. The conference participants belong to the sectors of higher education, school education, vocational education and training as well as adult education, therefore representing all of the target groups of the Stay@School project.
