The EU Commission has decided to launch an emergency plan against dropout of school in order to help Member States to achieve the main objective of Europe 2020 to reduce it below 10%.
In order to fight against the dropout of school, the Commission is promoting a kind of approach which takes into account economic, social and labor aspects rather than just educational dimension. In this perspective the school role is seen in a broader context with a greater emphasis on basic educational skills directly related to future qualification.
