DESCRIZIONE DEI CONTENUTI:

How to move from early school leaving to re schooling and re socialization leaning on the young persons entourage? How to create a link with the young, socially excluded school leaver? Taking advantage of this link, how to help them change their self-image, their representation of their skills and future?
The book presents a pragmatic intervention approach based on the device Motivation global (global motivation): a new kind of coordination for the school to extend its action beyond its walls, with the help of specialists.
With this device, it is possible to act flexibly at the crucial moment of early school leaving, when it is spotted by the school, and before the spiral of school leaving! The book is based on field experiences. It lists many examples of assistance, experience, testimonies. It also offers models of conventions and functioning documents to make links between the school and associations

COMMENTO SULLA PUBBLICAZIONE:

This practical guide for social actors in the field of youth is also a reflexion tool on the world of school.
Nicolas Roubaud created this social intervention methodology starting with young early school leavers diagnosed as such by secondary schools in Brussels (a five-year long action research). Meanwhile he created the association asbl Odyssee that puts this intervention device into daily practice.
Catherine Sztencel is the director of asbl Odyssee. She keeps working on the field with young school leavers.
